The facility to pay additional voluntary contributions, via the former SBS, to secure an additional DISC benefit was withdrawn for new business from 2 December 2004.

Notwithstanding the September 2007 transfer of outstanding SBS balances to BlackRock and/or Standard Life AVC funds, DISC contributions continue to be collected through the telent Payroll thereby providing existing contributors with additional DISC benefits.
